Violinist & Collaborative Pianist – A dynamic performer with international orchestral and opera experience.

Violinist, Pianist, and Educator

Originally from South Korea, Jane Lee is a distinguished violinist, pianist, and music educator. She holds a Master of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan, where she studied under Professor David Halen, concertmaster of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma, studying with Dr. Hong Zhu, a violinist of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic.

Jane is an active orchestral musician, currently performing with the Holland Symphony Orchestra (Holland, MI) and frequently collaborating with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra (Peoria, IL) and Windsor Symphony Orchestra (Windsor, ON, Canada). Her extensive performance experience includes engagements with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra (Rochester, MI) and Akron Symphony Orchestra (Akron, OH). In addition to orchestral work, she has appeared in numerous opera productions, including Werther (2023), Carmen (2022), L’Orfeo (2022), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2022), and Das Rheingold (2022).

Jane’s leadership in orchestral settings traces back to her academic years, where she served as Associate Concertmaster of the University of Central Oklahoma String Chamber Orchestra and Principal Second Violinist of the University of Central Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed in large-scale productions such as An Evening with Michael Bublé (2021) at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, which seats over 18,000 attendees.

In South Korea, Jane served as Concertmaster of the University of Suwon Symphony Orchestra, and her formative years at Anyang Arts High School shaped her musical path. She earned top accolades, including the Honor Prize at the 2017 Sang Myung Nationwide Competition, the Se-Jong Arts Cultural Foundation International Music Competition, and Third Prize at the 32nd Han-Eum Music Competition. She has also performed Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3 as a soloist in numerous concerts and recitals.

Beyond violin, Jane is a dedicated collaborative pianist and educator. She began playing piano at the age of five and won Second Prize at the 21st Kyung-Hyang Music Nationwide Competition at age seven. She later studied collaborative piano with Dr. Sallie Pollack at the University of Central Oklahoma, which led to her role as Choir Assistant Director and Piano Accompanist at Mustang Public Schools in Oklahoma.

Jane’s commitment to music education extends to her roles as a Violin Teaching Artist at the Rosalyn Yalow Charter School (Bronx) and Teaching Artist/Site Coordinator at P.S. 66 – The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School (Queens). She also provides private instruction in violin, viola, piano, and voice at Williamsburg Music Studio in Brooklyn, preparing students for the prestigious Juilliard Pre-College Program. A certified Suzuki violin teacher, she has completed Suzuki Teacher Training (Units 1-3) with Mark Mutter.

With a deep passion for performance and education, Jane continues to inspire young musicians while maintaining an active career as a performer across the U.S. and internationally.
