Syma Mohammed

Ms. Syma Mohammed is a British Journalist who has sustained acclaim and distinction in her field for many years now. Her publications in major media date back as far as 2010 and include some of the world’s leading newspapers and magazines, such as The Guardian, The Independent, The Herald, Daily Express, Cape Times, and The National, among many others. An ardent chronicler of the Arab/Muslim experience and gender, Ms. Mohammed’s work is often cited in authoritative academic books. Ms. Mohammed’s work was also recognized by the South Asian Journalist Association Awards when she became a Finalist in 2018. In November 2018, she was awarded Open City’s Neighborhoods and Muslim Communities Fellowship, which is run by the Asian American Writers’ Workshop.
